According to Montessori philosophy, children absorb their environment subconsciously and enjoy learning most during the first three years of their lives. This is because it is a time when children effortlessly absorb concepts and habits. It is also the period when roots for a love of learning are established.

This declaration has been affirmed by research that showed the most important period in a human being’s educational and emotional development are not the years of high school and college but rather the first few years of a child’s life.

Equally important is that scientific studies have determined the enormous role that genetics play in determining a child’s predisposition, strengths, weaknesses, and many other aspects of his or her interests, talents, and personalities.

Curriculum Overview

Our classrooms are carefully planned to meet the needs of toddlers and organized for their convenience. Areas of learning are defined, yet the space is open to allow plenty of room for social interaction and activities required for growth and development. Our teachers lead classes using age appropriate Montessori materials and activities that are designed to arouse their interest and involvement.

Areas of learning include large muscle movement and fine motor exercises for hand-eye coordination. Practical life exercises such as pouring, sweeping, dusting, buttoning, zipping and table setting are introduced early, providing opportunities for children to care for themselves and their environment. Lessons of grace and courtesy are practiced daily to help toddlers learn to share things and be considerate of others.

Here we also provide materials scaled to a child’s size and ability, opportunities to acquire proper movement, and activities to develop independence.

On the other hand, we also allow the learning experience to remain open and free enough to render a child the joy in discovery, and the fulfillment in interacting and arriving at his/her own, socially verified version of knowledge.

Since this program is a direct extension of the home environment, we encourage the participation of a parent in the development of your child’s intelligence, discipline, and self-determination.

Thus, at the tender age of three, the self-directed, creative, and innovative toddler who has received the proper assistance is ready for the next sub-phase of his/her development.
